What is the difference between Zaner Bloser and D nealian?

Zaner Bloser is a company that was founded by Charles Paxton Zaner and Elmer Ward Bloser. One of the famous products of Zaner-Bloser is a worksheet for writing. The font inside the worksheet has a specific character. The shape of the font in Zaner Bloser printing is straight up and down. We can name it as the Zaner Bloser manuscript alphabet. The Zaner Bloser Manuscript alphabet is commonly used in elementary school. It has no tail. It also doesn't have a loop, tail, or anything else that can be found on cursive letters. We can call the font as a manuscript. While D'Nealian has a font system that looks like cursive lettering. The font is like Italic, which means it is slant. We can find a tail at the end of the letters. If we want to write a cursive lettering, it will be easier with D’Nealian. We can simply connect each tail.

Is manuscript print or cursive?

Manuscript writing is actually a technique of writing or handwriting that involves straight and rigid lines and circles each letter. Each letter is not connected. Which means, every letter has a small space, not connected with lines or tails. Manuscript writing doesn't have loops inside, it's purely a closed line or circle. To sum up, manuscript is not a cursive. It's because the characteristic of a manuscript writing is the opposite of a cursive writing. We can find loops, slant letters, tails. Cursive letters are also written in a form of the connection. The tail that is attached in every letter helps the cursive letters to connect.

What order should you teach writing letters?

First thing to remember is, since the Zaner Bloser manuscript alphabet commonly appears in the writing lesson in the elementary school, it is a good choice to pick this kind of writing. It's because the style makes the kids stroke fewer than the cursive one. We can start introducing them with letters that only have straight lines, both vertical and horizontal lines. We can find these particular characteristics in letters X, I, F, E, and H. Then, we can teach them gradually to move to the letters that contain rounded lines, like C, O, and Q. Then, the diagonal lines of the letter A, M, N, and Y can be taught for kids.
