Actually, math colors by numbers have been used for a long time. It is a coloring activity that combines the concept of a coloring book with canvas painting. Colors by numbers have been used since 1950. Since it was first invented, the worksheet has become a popular worksheet for both children and adults.
However, the worksheet is still used today. The inventor of the worksheet is Dan Robbins. He is an artist living in Detroit. A year before discovering colors by numbers, he worked at the Palmer Show Card Paint Company.
There, he worked on illustrating children. But Max Klein, his boss, asked him to sell paint. Finally, he came up with a unique solution. He designed painting kits to promote his company's paint products.
He got the idea from the works of Leonardo da Vinci. Da Vinci made a work that had numbers written on the canvas. It is a creative thing that can be done by children. So, the numbers in the picture determine the color the children should choose. It becomes an essential tool for art projects such as background painting and underpainting.
When creating the colors by numbers, Robbins made a painting. Then, he placed a piece of plastic over the painting to shade it. Then, he divided the painting into areas and wrote the numbers in those areas with a certain color.
After making it, Robbins introduced it to the public using attractive packaging. The product was released after the war ended. At that time, Americans had a lot of free time to do activities. So, the colors by numbers kit becomes one of the most interesting games for people. Finally, the kit became a popular culture in society until today.
With this kit, the Palmer Show Card Paint Company turned into a Craft Master. The company's number of employees also increased to 800 employees. They have produced a 50,000 colors by numbers kit.
