How to Make Pumpkin Pie and Muffin with Preschoolers?

Baking is a great way to involve kids in the kitchen, teach them important cooking abilities, and make special memories. Pumpkin pie and pumpkin muffins are traditional recipes that can be made to suit the taste of children of any age.

These recipes made with pumpkin are not just tasty but also have important nutrients like vitamin A and fiber. This means that they are a healthy option for children who are still growing.

  1. Before you bake the pie, set the oven to a temperature of 425°F (220°C). For the muffins, set the oven to a temperature of 375°F (190°C).

  2. Put oil or butter on the pie dish or use paper liners in muffin tins. In a big bowl, blend the pumpkin puree, sugar, spices, and eggs together until they are mixed well for both recipes.

  3. Put the pumpkin mixture into the pie crust that hasn't been baked yet and make sure it is spread out evenly. In another bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and spices by stirring quickly.

  4. In a different bowl, mix the butter and sugar together until smooth. Next, put the eggs, pumpkin puree, milk, and vanilla extract together.

  5. Cook the pie in the oven at a high temperature of 425°F (220°C) for 15 minutes. Then, lower the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C) and continue to cook the pie for another 40-50 minutes or until it is firm.

  6. To make the muffins, pour batter into each muffin cup until it is about 2/3 full. Bake them in the oven for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick placed in the middle comes out without any batter sticking to it.
